The Person Behind the Practice

I spent 20 years being the person who carried too much.

Director of Transformation roles. Complex, high-scrutiny organisations. Billions in strategic value on the line. I was the one staying close to delivery, absorbing the decisions nobody else would make, holding the whole thing together through personal effort.

It worked. And it cost me. It costs most leaders who operate that way.

Now I help senior leaders and their organisations stop relying on individuals to do what structure, clarity, and decision architecture should be doing.

Where I've Worked

My career has been spent inside board-governed, investor-backed, and publicly scrutinised organisations where strategy is ambitious, and the cost of getting delivery wrong is real.

Organisations include: BP, Deutsche Bank, Greene King, Kraft/Mondelez, Castrol, Superdry, Greggs, New Look, M&S, Boots Alliance, Moto Hospitality, and Saga.

The work: Strategy design and delivery, cultural transformation, operating model redesign, integration, turnaround, and performance recovery.

The impact: Over £500m+ in direct, measurable business benefit across these engagements. With £1bn ongoing strategic benefits built.

This wasn’t advisory work delivered from a distance. I was in the room. Accountable. Living the pressure, I now help others navigate.

Credentials:

  • ICF-accredited Executive Coach

  • Henley Business School — Strategy qualification

  • Degree in Social Welfare & Sociology

  • 20+ years leading transformation delivery in complex organisations

The combination of strategic credibility and coaching depth is what allows me to work at both the system level (how the organisation operates) and the individual level (how the leader copes). Most practitioners do one or the other. I do both because leaders under pressure need both.

What's it like to work with me:

Clients describe me as calm, direct, and commercially grounded. I don’t do drama. I don’t do theory without application. I bring the same composure to a coaching conversation that I brought to a boardroom under pressure.

I’m a good fit if you want someone who:

  • Has been where you are — not just studied it

  • Will tell you the truth, not what you want to hear

  • Understands the commercial context, not just the human one

  • Keeps things calm when everyone else is escalating

I’m not the right fit if you need a large consulting team, a culture programme, or someone who will agree with everything you say.
